Training Pointing Gun Dogs, Breeding German Shorthair Pointers and Competing in Field Trials for almost 50 years.
Located
in Leroy, Michigan in the heart of grouse country, Monkeyshine Kennels trains all pointing breeds on wild and liberated
birds. We are continuously starting and finishing quality bird dogs as we have for fifty years. Besides our facility in Leroy,
we use two established training camps in North Dakota and the Carolinas. In the summer months from July until September
we are in prairie country training on wild sharptails and pheasant. During the winter, usually January through March,
we are hunting quail in the south. During the rest of the year we train here in Michigan and on the road at various locations
